Introducing Alaqaria
Qatar Real Estate Investment Company, also known as Alaqaria, is a Qatari public shareholding company (QSC], with diversified activities in the real estate sector in the State of Qatar.

Alaqaria was established in 1995 by Emiri Decree No. 49 in accordance with the provisions of Qatar's Commercial Companies Law. The Company was one of the first to be listed on the Doha Securities Exchange (DSM) when the exchange was inaugurated in 1997. Alaqaria is capitalised at
QR 720,000,000, comprising 70,000,000 shares with a face value of QR 10 per share. The government of Qatar holds a stake of approximately 27% in the Company.

A pioneer from the start
The core businesses of the company are in the real estate investment and development. In its early years, the Company focused on developing residential projects in Qatar, especially in the new urban areas of Dukhan, Mesaieed, and Al Khor, which were growing swiftly to meet the needs of the rapid industrial expansion in the state.

The harnessing of natural gas resources and the growth of the petrochemical industry in these areas saw Qatar undergo massive development and gave birth to the nation's vibrant economy. Alaqaria became an integral part of the state's development. The Company was responsible for the conception, development, and maintenance of comprehensive, sustainable residential neighborhoods.

A major part of our management approach was in building the execution capacity. We have spent the better part of our previous years in creating the capacity to execute on the potential growth of our business.
